not your (mother's) diet

Unravel the grips of old, toxic messages around food and body

to develop your own healing relationship to yourself.

What was your first exposure to a diet or negative comments about a body (yours, someone else's)?

In what ways did that begin to shape how you saw your body, your place in the world, and your worth as you are?

Whether we’re conscious of it or not, early ideas of our worth and beauty are shaped by those
who raised us (parents, community, etc).

If those impressions have left us doubting ourselves, feeling unworthy, and going through the endlessly unsatisfying diet rollercoaster, then we can be left feeling very lost and at war with our own bodies.

You have the power to unlearn what you were taught.

This is a 5-week Womxn’s group providing shared

understanding and support as we:

  • Unlearn toxic messages about food and body we learned as children but still carry today

  • Reunite with our inner child and heal old wounds so we can move forward

  • Reconnect with the body through non-judgmental/authentic self-expression

  • Learn healthy ways of communicating with our bodies and honoring our needs

  • Learn how to identify the more subtle ways we internalize food and body shaming and how to protect ourselves from it

  • Learn how to set boundaries with loved ones around language or judgments that trigger old limiting beliefs

  • Develop our own definitions of health & happiness outside of external expectations (yes, you can do this!)

  1. Myths of diet culture

  2. Forgiveness

  3. Inner child work

  4. Acknowledging and adjusting negative self-talk

  5. Finding our unique worth

  6. Free-flowing body expression

  7. Intuitive eating

  8. Setting boundaries with food and body shamers

  9. Daily body-gratitude practices

  10. Journaling practices

Topics that will be covered include:

It’s time to let go of the inner voices of shame and critique that didn’t come from you, and never belonged to you in the first place.

Hi, I'm Cassandra Elrod

I’m a Licensed Mental Health Counselor, Certified Nutritionist, Certified Meditation Instructor, and owner of Food Joy + Body Peace, a wellness consulting space in Seattle, Washington. My goal is to help my clients find deep connection to their authentic selves through food, body, and intuitive wisdom. My passion is being a witness to your story, your power, and your innate ability to transform into the version of yourself that is unapologetically YOU.

I know the magic of this work because I know you have that same magic inside you. It is your birthright to realize, honor, and manifest who you are meant to be:  experiencing joy, full of love, with purpose, and standing fully in your worth.

"Cassandra helped me reach the tender desires in my heart and the parts of me I had been rejecting for so long. I am making peace with my body and I make time every day to celebrate myself. I will forever be grateful for her guidance."

-Jess
"Cassandra's groups are thoughtful and inspiring. I feel held and connected to a larger community of women who I continue returning to. These groups give me the space to feel seen and to see myself fully."

-Alicia
"Good people bring out the good in people, and Cassandra is not just good people, she's a great healer. She's with you for the ride, no matter how bumpy it gets. She helped me find my courage, my worth, and my abundance."

-Len

This group is for you if you:

  • Struggle with negative self image or have difficulty seeing your worth which stems from parent/family attitudes

  • Talk negatively to yourself or others about your body, food choices, and even your decisions

  • Allow family members or others close to you speak critically of your body or food choices

  • Feel constantly dissatisfied with your body

  • Are curious about feeling free and at peace in your natural body

  • Want to feel connected and supported by other womxn doing this work

I believe in divine timing: that it is never (EVER) too late to begin, to unlearn and learn again, and that you are exactly where you need to be right in this moment.

If you have found yourself here, then this is your time. It’s time to connect, it’s time to heal, and it’s time to step forward into your life.
