Police Force: An Inside Story is a Hindi crime action film that was released on 28 May 2004. The film was directed by Dilip Shukla and starred Akshay Kumar, Raveena Tandon, Amrish Puri, Mohan Joshi, Alok Nath, and Raj Babbar in the lead roles. The film revolves around the training and challenges faced by some new recruits in the Indian Police Force, who have to deal with corrupt officers, politicians, and gangsters.

Plot Summary
The film begins with Pandey (Amrish Puri), a senior police officer and trainer at the Police Academy, who is assigned to train some new recruits who are likely candidates for senior positions in the Indian Police Force. He does his best to teach them the values and skills of a good cop, but he is unable to warn them about the dishonesty and corruption that prevails in the system.
One of his trainees is Vijay Singh (Akshay Kumar), a brave and honest young man who wants to serve his country. He falls in love with Roma (Raveena Tandon), a journalist who is investigating a case involving a powerful politician named Raatan Sethi (Raj Babbar) and a gangster named Dada Bhai (Govind Namdeo). Vijay also befriends Rana (Deepraj Rana), another trainee who is loyal to him.
After completing their training, Vijay and Rana are posted in Mumbai, where they encounter Pratap Bhosle (Mohan Joshi), a corrupt senior officer who works for Raatan Sethi and Dada Bhai. Bhosle tries to bribe Vijay and Rana to join his team, but they refuse. This angers Bhosle, who plots to ruin their careers and lives.
Vijay and Rana soon find themselves in trouble when they arrest some of Dada Bhai's men, who are involved in illegal activities. They are framed for killing an innocent man and are suspended from duty. They also face threats from Dada Bhai's goons, who try to kill them and Roma.
Vijay decides to fight back and expose the truth behind the nexus of crime and politics. He gets help from Pandey, who supports him as a mentor and a father figure. Vijay also learns that his own father, Mr. Singh (S.M. Zaheer), was a honest police officer who was killed by Raatan Sethi when he tried to expose his crimes.
Vijay vows to avenge his father's death and bring justice to the people. He confronts Raatan Sethi and Dada Bhai in a climactic showdown, where he manages to kill them both. He also clears his name and proves his innocence. He is reinstated in the police force and marries Roma.

Critical Reception
The film received mostly negative reviews from critics, who criticized the film for its lack of originality, poor direction, and weak performances. The film was also compared unfavorably to other cop films such as Khakee and Ab Tak Chhappan, which were released around the same time. The film was a flop at the box office, earning only Rs. 3.5 crore against a budget of Rs. 10 crore.

His stunts are well executed of course. Raveena looks least interested in the goings-on. Amrish Puri gives a good account of himself. Raj Babbar tends to go over the top. Mohan Joshi is as usual. On the whole, POLICE FORCE has nothing forceful about it. Dull."
Shruti Bhasin of Planet Bollywood gave a negative review stating "Our recommendation is that you check out a better quality cop flick such as Khakee or Ab Tak Chappan ."
